Chateau d’Arlay Tradition Blanc is a barrel-aged white wine made by Chateau d’Arlay with the Chardonnay and Savagnin varieties in the AOC Côtes du Jura (France).

Chateau d’Arlay is an authentic castle built in the 18th century in the heart of Jura. In 1960, the count of Laguiche, owner of the Chateau, decided to revive the winemaking tradition started by the Minim friars in the Middle Ages and began to work 25 hectares of vineyards planted around the building and produce quality wines. His son Alain is now in charge, bringing a more modern approach to winemaking but maintaining the 100% Jura identity.

The vines used to make Chateau d’Arlay Tradition Blanc are planted at an altitude of 200 to 240 metres. These are old strains grown using organic techniques that do not disturb the natural balance of the terroir. The harvest is left until the grapes are very ripe.

In the winery, once the Chateau d'Arlay Tradition Blanc grapes have been selected and destemmed, the two varieties are combined before the must is turned into wine. It then ferments and ages for 3 years in large, full vats in the castle’s impressive cellars.

Chateau d’Arlay Tradition Blanc is an incredibly long-lasting white wine which, despite its maturity, stays young with a perfectly integrated slow oxidation.
