Chateau d’Arlay Pinot Noir is a barrel-aged red wine made with the Pinot Noir variety by Chateau d’Arlay in the AOC Côtes du Jura (France).

Chateau d’Arlay is a spectacular castle dating back to the seventeenth century, located in the Jura wine region in France. Surrounded by about 25 hectares of vineyards, in 1960 the count of Laguiche revived the estate as a winery, as it was in the Middle Ages, and began making wines that are now known around the world. Years later, his son Alain took over, applying a more modern approach to winemaking but holding onto a more traditional aging process. As a result, Château d’Arlay wines have become an icon of the Jura region.

Chateau d’Arlay Pinot Noir comes from old vines located on hillsides 200-240 metres above sea level. These are relatively old strains that, despite not being certified, are worked using organic and environmentally friendly techniques. The harvest is left until the grapes are very ripe. When they reach the winery, the grapes are vinified using old-fashioned, artisan methods and left to age gradually in large used barrels.

Although the Pinot Noir variety is directly associated with Burgundy, Chateau d’Arlay Pinot Noir is a classic from the Arlay Castle. A fresh wine, with a spicy character and pleasantly mineral.
