The bunches the Château Chantegrive Cuvée Caroline wine is made with come from vines of around 30 years of age planted in south-facing plots with soils composed of sand mixed with gravel and pebbles where harvest is carried out manually and in small boxes.
Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes macerate with their skins and pre-ferment in the cold for three weeks in order to later ferment and age with their fine lees. 50% of the resulting wine is aged in new French oak barrels for nine months with the application of regular battonages.
In 1966, Henri and Françoise Lévêque laid the foundations for what is now the Château de Chantegrive, a family winery which more than 50 years after its foundation has 96 hectares of vineyards and has become one of the most prestigious wine estates in the Graves region in Bordeaux.
At the Château de Chantegrive they’re in love with the Graves terroir, which is why all their work is based on respect for the environment and a constant search for quality.
