Castello di Verduno Barolo is a wood-aged red wine made by Castello di Verduno with the native Nebbiolo variety in the DOCG Barolo in Piedmont (Italy).
Castello di Verduno is a winery with a long winemaking history dating back to 1910 when the Burlotto family acquired the estate owned by the House of Savoy. Since then, over several generations, they have built up an enviable vineyard estate in the Barolo and Barbaresco area. Today Franco Bianco and his wife, Gabriella Burlotto, together with their daughters, Giovanna and Marcella are responsible for making traditional wines of renowned finesse, elegance and complexity that age very well.
Castello di Verduno Barolo comes from their own vineyards lying 265 metres above sea level. They are cultivated in a way that respects the environment and preserves the aromatic and organoleptic characteristics of the native Nebbiolo grape. The harvest is carried out manually and placed in small boxes.
Castello di Verduno Barolo is vinified in the traditional way. First, the best grapes are selected and macerated and fermented in open vats. The wine is then aged in large oak barrels for 24 months and then for a further 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Finally it is bottled and stays in the winery for 24 months before being released for sale.
Castello di Verduno Barolo is a wine of great depth and elegance with excellent value for money. A great opportunity to enjoy an authentic Barolo without breaking the bank.
