Raimat Molí Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine from the Costers del Segre D.O. region. Produced by Raimat, this wine is made solely from Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) grapes.

The grapes used to make Raimat Molí Cabernet Sauvignon come from the winerys own vineyards. They were developed in an intergrated manner, as indicated by the seal of approval of the Catalan Council of Integrated Producció (CICC).

Once the grapes have arrived at the winery, the grapes ferment with the skin still on for 10 days in stainless stell tanks. This process is carried out between 25 and 28 degrees of temperature. During this period, various remontages (pump overs) are conducted.

After alcoholic fermentation, the must of the Castell de Raimat Cabernet Sauvignon undergoes maolactic fermentation.

Finally, Raimat Molí Cabernet Sauvignon ages for 12 months in new American oak barrels from Virginia. After this, Raimat Molí Cabernet Sauvignon rests for half a year in the bottle before going on sale.

The building of the Raimat winery dates back to 1918. Joan Rubió i Bellever, who was a apprentice of Gaudi, constructed the building that was then the first building constructed with reinforced concrete in Spain. It was described as the "cathedral of wine".

In a unique environment, Raimat is a pioneer farm in cultivation and oenological technologies, which have led it to classify its 2,245 hectares in individual plots, treated one by one according to their unique features. Nowadays, Raimat is one of the most important winegrowing research and development centres in Spain. It is also a figurehead of sustainability and environmental programmes, which it uses to offer high-quality wines with a unique personality, made exclusively with grapes from their own farm, always with maximum respect and conservation of the environment.
Pictures and situation Raimat
When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
