Cascina delle Rosse Barbera d'Alba is an organic, barrel-aged red wine made by the Cascina delle Rosse Italian winery in the prestigious DOC Barbera d'Alba (Piedmont) with the Barbera native variety.
The Cascina delle Rosse winery lies in the valley of the Sordo river in Barbaresco and as its name suggests, it is surrounded by roses. It is a 3 hectare property managed by the Rizzolio family since 1948. Through their organic viticulture, they produce elegant and deep wines.
Cascina delle Rosse Barbera d'Alba comes from vines planted on steep slopes with clay-calcareous soil with marl and mineral-rich sand. These strains were planted in 1997 and have a yield of 30 hl / ha. The team use organic viticulture with no chemical products, and the work is manual.
Cascina delle Rosse Barbera d'Alba is vinified through macerating the destemmed grapes with their skins for 7 to 10 days. It then ferments with native yeasts and ages for 20-22 months in large "botti". Finally, after bottling, it rests for 6 months before being sold.
The most characteristic thing about Cascina delle Rosse Barbera d'Alba is its elegance, balance and perfume. It showcases the depth and structure of a real Piedmont classic.
