Cascina Delle Rose is named after the large number of roses growing on the estate. It is a family winery run by Giovanna Rizzolio. As one of the first women to run a winery in Langhe in the 90s, she is a pioneer in the traditional Barbaresco region. Nebbiolo in its most elegant and feminine expression.
Cascina Delle Rose Rio Sordo comes from vineyards located in the valley with the same name. These are old vines planted in 1978 in calcareous-clay and sandy soils. The vines are grown using ecological agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, the Cascina Delle Rose Rio Sordo grapes ferment in contact with their skins for 12-14 days at a controlled temperature. It is then aged in traditional 10-17 hl Slavic oak barrels for 22 months. Finally, it is bottled without filtering or clarifying and rests for 8 months in the winery before being sold.
