Characteristics Casanova di Neri IrRosso
Casanova di Neri IrRosso 2016 is a barrel-aged red wine made with the native Sangiovese variety by Casanova di Neri in Tuscany (Italy).
The Casanova di Neri winery was set up in 1971 by Giovanni Neri in the Montalcino area (Tuscany). He studied the different plots in detail to extract the maximum expression of the native Sangiovese variety. Today his son Giacomo is at the helm and continues with the same philosophy as his father, making unique and expressive wines.
The Casanova di Neri IrRosso vines have been planted or replanted with cuttings from old Sangiovese vines. These are high quality strains that are traditionally cultivated without using chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Casanova di Neri IrRosso grapes are selected both before and after destemming. Maceration and fermentation take place with native yeasts in conical stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 13 days. Finally, the wine ages in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months.
The Casanova di Neri IrRosso wine is ready to be opened and enjoyed straight away but it will also age perfectly for a few years in the bottle. A beautiful gem of a red wine from Tuscany.
