Cara Nord Blanc is a white wine from the Conca de Barberà region and is produced by Cara Nord. This wine is a blend of 2 grape varieties, Chardonnay, Trepat and Macabeo.

The grapes used by Cara Nord Blanc are grown in plots surrounded by mountains and forests at around 800 metres above sea level.

The vineyards are planted in poor soils composed of slate, and limestone. In regards to the climate, the nights are cold, which allows the vineyard to rest and slows the accumulation of sugars.

The vineyard grows the vines using dryland viticulture. The vitculture maximises efforts to minimise the the envionmental impact and prioritse the enivironment.

Upon entering the Winery, the grapes are fermented at a constant temperatura of 16º. Before being botelled, Cara Nord Blanc then ages for 3 months on its lees.

Cara Nord is a young winery, founded in 2012. However, the climate, the history of the region and the terroir without a doubt help Cara Nord produce wines of exceptional quality.

Cara Nord is a young winery located in the Sierra de Prades, a mountain located to the south of Catalonia, part of the well-known Cordillera Prelitoral Catalana. The name of the winery refers to the place where their wine are produced: the north face of the Sierra de Prades.
Its characteristics and its winemaking tradition and history, inspired this new project.
Mountain wines with grapes planted in altitude, enduring difficult climatic conditions.
Pictures and situation Cara Nord
As with many other Catalonian wine regions, the DO. Conca de Barberà is developing its own territorial identity that over the years has been redefining the personality of the wines and the region, with the help of the red Trepat grape variety. The Trepat grape can be used to produce good sparkling rosés, rosés with character, fresh red wines, as well as elegant blanc de noirs. In just a few years the region and this grape variety have shown their potential, their versatility, and the possibility of carrying out R&D (Research and Development) with them. There are still few wineries who produce single variety wines using this grape, but most importantly, all of them have become aware of the obligation to enhance the uniqueness that defines the territory and the new style of wine to be imposed in the twenty-first century.
