Cantos del Diablo is a red wine made in D.O. Méntrida from the winery Daniel Landi.
Cantos del Diablo is a single variety made from Grenache grapes that are grown on old vines more than 60 years old.
Daniel Landi practices an agriculture based on ecological farming with complete respect for the environment.
The grapes are grown on a unique estate that is located in El Real de San Vicente, a small town in la Sierra de Gredos.
They can be found at an altitude of 900 metres above sea level, north facing and a continental climate with Mediterranean influences.
The soil is granite soil with some surface sand.
The harvest is done by hand.
Daniel Landi follows a production with little intervention leaving the vineyard to express its qualities.
The grapes are destemmed and macerated at a cold temperature before the fermentation with local yeast from their own vineyards in French oak vats.
Cantos del Diablo undergoes an aging for 14 months. Firstly in 1500 litre oak casks then afterwards they pass into 500 litre barrels.
A delicious Grenache, very expressive, fresh with a lot of fineness.

Méntrida, like other famous wine regions of La Mancha, is steeped in history. The vines here grow under bright blue Castilian skies in a landscape which enjoys spectacular views of the snowy mantle of the Sierra de Gredos. The character of the wines produced here, tough and honest, were always enjoyed by the Habsburg Dynasty in Madrid. That being said, a new generation of wine is emerging, albeit at a slower rate than other regions in Spain, renovating wineries with modern equipment with a generation of young winemakers who are producing pleasant and balanced wines, some have even managed to recover the local flavour of its wines using the classic earthenware jars, now appreciated and fashionable in other areas.
