Ca’ Lojera Lugana is a white wine aged in stainless steel made by Ca’ Lojera with the Trebbiano di Lugana variety in the DOC Lugana, in Lombardia (Italy).
Ca’ Lojera, which means “House of wolves” in the local dialect, is named as such because legend has it there are wolves in this area. This winery has become a symbol of high quality in this Lugana denomination. The only danger with this family winery, run by the Tiraboschi couple, is that their wines are hard to resist. Fresh mineral wines with incredible longevity.
Ca’ Lojera Lugana comes from vineyards lying 60 metres above sea level, with beautiful views of Lake Garda. The vines are planted on predominantly clayey soil, on moderate mountain terrain, and some of them are over 50 years old. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture and harvest is carried out in 15 kg boxes with the grapes selected in the vineyard.
In the winery, the Ca’ Lojera Lugana grapes are traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks with temperature control. The wine then ages on its own lees in these same steel tanks before bottling.
Ca’ Lojera Lugana is a masterpiece that uniquely exemplifies the essence of the DOC Lugana. A flavoursome, fresh and mineral wine, with marked typicity and no excessively pretentious refining.
