D.O. Vinos de Madrid (Madrid)
Ca' Di Mat Andrinal is a barrel-aged red wine made with the Garnacha Tinta variety in the D.O. Vinos de Madrid (Madrid) by Ca' Di Mat.
Having set up two projects in the Ribeira Sacra, Curro Bareño and Jesús Olivares decided to start a third in the town of San Martín de Valdeiglesias at the foot of the Sierra de Gredos. Under the name Ca' Di Mat, “House of Fools” in a Piedmont dialect, they seek to enhance the elegance and complexity of the local Garnacha in an area that is becoming more and more popular.
Ca' Di Mat Andrinal comes from the Andrinoso area that lies 850 metres above sea level. These are old vines, aged between 30 and 80, and planted in granite soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
When the Ca' Di Mat Andrinal grapes reach the winery, they are gently macerated whole for 60 days. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and the wine ages for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.
Ca' Di Mat Andrinal is a small production wine that is heavily influenced by the characteristic soils of the D.O. VInos de Madrid. A light Garnacha from Sierra de Gredos.
