Buena Pinta

Buena Pinta is a red wine from Manchuela prepared by Ponce Winery and Vineyards, a family project founded by Juan Antonio Ponce with his father and brother in the late 90s.

One of the main objectives is to publicize the virtues of varieties like Bobal, Moravia Agria and Albilla, originating in the Manchuela varieties that are currently endangered. The climate of this area is continental characterized by low humidity caused by the total absence of rainfall between May and September. The climate is influenced by the winds off the Levant. The temperature variation between day and night favors slow ripening and perfect formation of the dyestuff of the grape.

This wine is a blend of Moravia Agria (90%), one of the endangered varieties and characterized by its high acidity, and Grenache (10%). The vineyards are planted in the town of Villanueva de la Jara (Cuenca), on clay soils with a calcareous base, 600 and 700 meters above sea level. Buena Pinta is aged in French oak barrels of 600 litres for a period of seven months.
