Characteristics Bruno Duchêne Le Banyuls de Môman
Bruno Duchêne Le Banyuls de Môman is a natural red wine coupage of the Garnacha and Cariñena varieties produced by Bruno Duchêne, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region, France.
The grapes used to make the Bruno DuchêneLe Banyuls de Môman wine come from vineyards lying on terraces with slate soils. When the grapes reach the winery they are pressed traditionally by foot and with the stalks. The must macerates with skins for 3 days in open wooden vats. It is destemmed by hand, pressed very gently and after alcoholic fermentation the resulting wine ages for seven months in 500-litre oak barrels.
Bruno Duchêne is a winemaker originally from the Loire Valley who moved to Banyuls-sur-Mer in 2002 and bought small plots that he cultivates under the principles of organic agriculture. Right from his first harvest he caused a stir by revealing an incredible winemaking talent, making wines that are the opposite of what is usually produced in the area. They are sweet and fresh, spicy and elegant and with the same joy and positive energy that can be found on each of the labels used to identify these very limited production bottles.
