Borsao Rosado Selección is a rosé wine from the Campo de Borja region produced by the Borsao winery. This wine is made using only Grenache grapes.
The grapes used for Borsao Rosado Selección are taken from young vines, that are between 10 - 25 years old. The vineyards are grown across diverse soils that are rocky and muddy and composed of clay-limestone.
The harvest is carried out in a conventional manner. Following this, the grapes undergo cold maceration on arrival at the winery for no more than 12 hours. This rosé is then obtained using the saignée (sangrado) method.
Borsao Rosado Selección then ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 14º and 18ºC.
As described by the winery, Borsao Rosado Selección is a young, fresh and light rosé wine.
Borsao is a winery situated in the town of Borja. Founded in 1980, it has become a promoter of the Campos de Borja region and a reference for Garnacha wines.
In a relatively short time, Bodegas Borsao has gone from being one of the examples of the wine growing stagnation of some Aragonese cooperatives, to being among the best examples of a company with an intelligent renovation. Although Bodegas Borsao, founded in 1958, is still a cooperative with more than 400 members who cultivate and control more than 1,500 hectares of vineyard, the new wines not only brought a breath of fresh air to Campo de Borja, but they also meant a new beginning for many other Aragonese wines: modernity.
