Cerasuolo di Vittoria is the only Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) in Sicily.
Straight from there comes Baroni Di Pianogrillo Cerasuolo di Vittoria Curva Minore, a red wine made by Lorenzo Piccione di Pianogrillo (the last descendant of this family) at the estate they own in the province of Ragusa, in the south of the Italian island.
Baroni Di Pianogrillo Cerasuolo di Vittoria Curva Minore contains all the Sicilian soul as it’s made with the Frapatto and Nero d'avola varieties (the most widespread and famous in the area). Both are developed in Pianogrillo Lower Pianogrillo, the 3 hectare vineyard situated 480 meters above sea level. Once in the winery, Baroni Di Pianogrillo Cerasuolo di Vittoria Curva Minore is aged in stainless steel conical vats and oak barrels.
Baroni Di Pianogrillo Cerasuolo di Vittoria Curva Minore is created in this place which oozes history: from references to the Neolithic and buildings from the Middle Ages, to the remains of a Greek colony and an early Christian tomb. There’s nothing like uncorking a bottle of this wine and discovering it through your senses.
Baroni Di Pianogrillo Cerasuolo di Vittoria Curva Minore 2018 is a young, light, flavorsome wine, which presents a good structure in the mouth, flavorsome and harmonious, leaving a fresh sensation. On the nose, notes of red fruits, flowers and cherries stand out.
