Barón de Ley Rosado is a young rosé wine made with the Tempranillo and Garnacha Tinta varieties in the D.O.Ca. Rioja by Barón de Ley.
Although the history behind this winery in Rioja dates back to 1548 when the castle was built, Barón de Ley was actually founded in 1985 by a group of local professionals who worked together to create a winery in a French style to resemble the Médoc châteaux. Currently, the winery works more than 600 hectares of vineyards spread across the denomination to produce wines from Rioja Alta, Navarra and Rioja Baja.
Barón de Ley Rosado comes from 30-year-old vines located in the village of Mendavia, Navarra. They lie at 400 metres above sea level in a continental climate with Mediterranean influence. They use traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually.
After being destemmed, the Barón de Ley Rosado grape ferments in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 16ºC. The wine is made through a drawing off system and by macerating the must with its own skins for 8 hours at a low temperature.
Barón de Ley Rosado is a young and refreshing rosé wine. A classic from the D.O.Ca. Rioja in a true châteaux style.
Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product
Barón de Ley Rosado 2018 is a fruity rosé wine with an explosion of strawberry and raspberry aromas and red fruits. On the palate it is fresh, flavoursome and rounded with persistent and balanced fruits all the way through.
Barón de Ley is one of those Rioja wineries whose first wines were born with a true vocation for the future. There has probably never been a winery in the area of La Rioja of the Navarre area that has been as controversial as Barón de Ley, where the modern character of its wines encountered the first renewed tastes. And Barón de Ley, after a few years producing test wines for another winery, was very clear as to what they wanted to be and what they wanted to do: a winery with a châteaux philosophy, with its own vineyards and a limited production, based on the concept of making single-vineyard wines, modern, in the Bordeaux style but with Rioja class.
