Alvear Px de Añada is a sweet wine from the D.O. Montilla-Moriles produced by Alvear, a winery with over 280 of history. Currently, the winery under the ownership of the eighth generation of the same family.
This sweet wine is made using only Pedro Ximénez (100%) grapes that are taken from vineyards planted on calcareous soils which are situated near the Sierra de Montilla y Moriles (Córdoba).
As for the winemaking process, the grapes used to make this wine come from a single harvest. After the grapes have been selected, this sweet young wine is obtained through drying the Pedro Ximenez grapes on mats in the sun. The wine is then aged in the traditional earthenware jars, “tinajas”, where it is left for 12 months.

Founded in 1729 by Mr. Diego de Alvear y Escalera, Alvear is the oldest winery in Andalusia and the second oldest one in Spain. Eight generations later, this family business still has the same essence: crisp colour, fragrance appeal, softness when in contact with the palate. Perfection as a whole. All these things together, gifted with a distinct personality and mixed with determination and subtlety, make up the treasure and joy of the Alvear wines, with 40% of their production marketed in more than 25 different countries, among which we can find Great Britain, Holland, Japan, Canada and Australia.
