Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Alvear Pedro Ximénez Solera is an extremely old wine from the D.O. Montilla-Moriles which was stored by means of the oldest criadera and solera sytem of this winery, which dates back the 1830. It is made of sun-dried grapes, with a subsequent oxidative ageing which follows the criadera and solera system (a process of ageing liquids), with few extractions and only replacing the decrease of wine in the bottle.

Founded in 1729 by Mr. Diego de Alvear y Escalera, Alvear is the oldest winery in Andalusia and the second oldest one in Spain. Eight generations later, this family business still has the same essence: crisp colour, fragrance appeal, softness when in contact with the palate. Perfection as a whole. All these things together, gifted with a distinct personality and mixed with determination and subtlety, make up the treasure and joy of the Alvear wines, with 40% of their production marketed in more than 25 different countries, among which we can find Great Britain, Holland, Japan, Canada and Australia.

When we speak of Montilla-Moriles, we must not forget that the best Andalusian wines are not simply just produced, they grow and they bloom, much as a child grows and a flower blooms. Sharp in colour, attractive fragrances and soft on the palate. All of this, plus the unique personality, verve and subtlety of each wine, makes the wines from this region real treasures to enjoy.
