Allende Nature is a red wine produced by Finca Allende in Briones, D.O.Ca. La Rioja.
In 1986 Miguel Ángel de Gregorio discovers, in Briones, a unique terroir that he fell in love with. This is when he started to buy small vineyard areas with old vines. However, it was not until 1995 when he created his first Allende vintage. From this moment, he focused all his efforts on showing the character and the expressiveness of the terroir in his wines, on extracting all the essence of each one of his vines. He uses environmentally sustainable cultivation and follows the natural cycles of the plant, with organic fertiliser and mechanical tilling, without using any herbicides.
Allende Nature is a wine made from 100% Tempranillo, from the farm Las Cuestas de Valpierre, in Briones. These vines, which are over 30 years old, are planted on clayey soils with gravel.
Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in the vineyard. Once the harvest arrives at the winery, it is vatted in stainless steel deposits without stomping the grapes. Here, grapes ferment at a controlled temperature, 28ºC, for 16 days, at the same time as they macerate with the skins. It goes through malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels, where it remains for 5 months.
It is bottled without clarifying or filtering, and no sulphites are added in the process.
Allende Nature is a fresh, fruit-laden wine with body. With completely clean and elegant aromas. Miguel Ángel shows us that you can make a natural wine with a great requirement level.
