Alcorta Reserva Apasionado is a red wine from the IO Rioja prepared by the Alcorta winery, from the Domecq group. This is a single varietal Tempranillo, a grape typical of this area.

The grapes come from vineyards which mostly exceed 25 years. The harvest is done manually and certain plots are reserved for this wine.

Alcorta Reserva Apasionado is aged for two years in new and nearly new American and French oak barrels. Subsequently, it spends a year in bottle.

This wine, grown in La Rioja Alta, is a clear example of Rioja Tempranillo. The Alcorta winery, part of the natural landscape and respective of the environment, together with the collaboration of the oenologist Elena Adell, spends year after year working for the best wines.

Bodegas Alcorta pays tribute to one of the founders of the winery and the brand, Juan Alcorta Maíz, a renowned Donostia businessman who founded the company more than half a century ago. He developed a great professional career that was recognised by the Council of Ministers in 1994 with the awarding of the Great Cross of Agricultural Merit for his important entrepreneurial work. Juan Alcorta's long dedication to the production of Rioja wines, alongside the application of the most advanced techniques, has allowed them to develop new combinations within the traditional methods to currently offer more modern, vibrant and expressive wine styles.
Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
