Andreas Tscheppe Gelber Muskateller Segelfalter is a natural white wine made by the biodynamic viticulturist Andreas Tscheppe with the Muskateller variety in Weinland Österreich, in Styria (Austria).
Andreas Tscheppe is one of the five winemakers that make up “Schmecke das Lebe”, in the Austrian area of Styria, who rely on a holistic understanding of nature to make their wines. Guided by a respectful and sustainable management of the land and the vine, he makes completely unique wines that freely express the terroir they come from.
Andreas Tscheppe Gelber Muskateller Segelfalter comes from an organic vineyard that is full of life, where the vines grow alongside insects, plants, herbs and flowers. Following biodynamic principles, this winegrower strives to be attentive to his surroundings, from the stars to the bacteria in the soil.
Following a manual harvest, the grapes used to make Andreas Tscheppe Gelber Muskateller Segelfalter are destemmed and they spontaneously ferment in wooden barrels with native yeasts for 18 months. Finally, the wine is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
Andreas Tscheppe’s wine labels all feature the insects that can be found in his vineyards, and Andreas Tscheppe Gelber Muskateller Segelfalter is a “butterfly” wine that expresses its origin and terroir with great finesse.
