Abreu Vineyards Madrona Ranch is a wood-aged red wine made by the Abreu Vineyards winery with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties in AVA Napa Valley, California (USA).
David Abreu is a rancher considered one of the top premium grape growers in the Napa Valley, California. With only four select parcels in St. Helena, he founded Abreu Vineyards in 1986, a Bordeaux-style winery whose select, hedonistic and extremely limited production wines are praised all over the world.
Abreu Vineyards Madrona Ranch is located at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains in St. Helena. It is the first vineyard David Abreu acquired. As well as the vineyard, the property also has an old barn and several farm animals that live together as a community. The style of agriculture is influenced by methods used in Bordeaux with environmentally-friendly treatments. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested and selected by hand.
In the winery, the Abreu Vineyards Madrona Ranch grapes are vinified with the fruit from each vineyard kept separate. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel tanks with native yeasts. Afterwards, the previously selected wine is aged in 225-litre French oak barrels before being bottled.
Abreu Vineyards Madrona Ranch is this renowned winery’s first commercial release. A hedonistic wine that can only be purchased as a select member of the winery or through an online shop, like Decántalo.
