About Monte Real Gran Reserva

Monte Real Gran Reserva is a red wine from La Rioja produced by Bodegas Riojanas. It is a varietal Tempranillo.

The grapes, carefully selected, come from vineyards located in the town of Cenicero, in the heart of La Rioja Alta.

For the preparation of Monte Real Gran Reserva, new technologies are used. The grapes are de-stemmed and stripped. A process of fermentation and long maceration is then carried out.

Monte Real Gran Reserva is aged for between 24 and 30 months in American oak barrels and finally rests another 36 months in bottle.

Bodegas Riojanas holds more than a century of winemaking tradition. Its corners are steeped in history.

The commitment to quality and personality of their wines are their distinctive traits.

2016

If any wine were a perfect representation of maturity and experience, it would undoubtedly be Monte Real Gran Reserva 2016. This red wine is the purest expression of Tempranillo, with an intense cherry color and russet rim. The nose is very intense, with fruity notes (blackberry, blueberry, plum) evolving into spices such as black pepper, clove, vanilla, dark chocolate and balsamic touches. The palate is juicy and smooth, slightly creamy, with firm tannins and a flavorsome acidity. An elegant and delicate finish.

2006 Balanced, silky and airy. Full-bodied, with outstanding tannins and good acidity. Round, with details of black fruit. Long aftertaste.

Ochre tones with touches of rust.

Delicate aromas of scrubland and notes of dried fruit, wet earth and nougat.
2004 Balance and sensuous flavour which leaves an overall impression of opulence. Full-bodied wine, well-constituted by tannins and its acidity. Excellent gustatory persistence. It is at the right time for consumption.

Ochre red colour with brick red edges.

Combination and richness of aromas with a vinous character.
