About Judith Beck Pink
In recent times, Gols, in Burgenland (Austria), has garnered the attention of the new generation of viticulture. This region is establishing itself as a key point in the production of high-quality wines, where figures like Preisinger Claus, Heinrich Gernot, and Beck Judith have become the true protagonists for several reasons. On one hand, they have skillfully leveraged the unique characteristics offered by Lake Neusiedl. This lake acts as a natural heater, storing the sun's warmth during the day and releasing it at night, thus creating an ideal microclimate for vine cultivation. On the other hand, with the aim of reflecting the local varieties, soils, and special microclimate of the best sites around Lake Neusiedl, this group of winemakers has united under the name Pannobile to enhance and preserve the vinous identity of Burgenland. Judith Beck, one of these prominent figures, cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards under this philosophy. Her vineyards, located in Wagram on the Parndorfer Platte, considered the best site in the region, produce wines that are the perfect showcase of what is currently brewing in Burgenland.
Among her most surprising recent creations is Judith Beck Pink, a spicy blend of the indigenous varieties blaufranckish and zweigelt from flat terrain with clay, sand, and gravel soils, characterized by strong winds. For over 15 years, the estate has been certified biodynamic, promoting soil health through the formation of humus. Once the manual harvest is done, the vinification process is minimally invasive and avoids the use of chemicals at any stage of production. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, and finally, the wine is bottled without fining or filtering.
As one of the key figures in turning Burgenland into an epicenter of innovation and tradition in viticulture, her rosé wine Judith Beck Pink perfectly captures the essence and terroir of this fascinating region. A blend of two of the most representative indigenous varieties that is simply delightful.
2023 |
Judith Beck Pink 2023 is a rosé wine with a beautiful salmon pink hue. On the nose, it presents aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and red cherries, with a hint of peach. On the palate, it is clean, fresh, and balanced with acidity, showcasing its mineral purity. |
