About Cara Nord Trepat Rosat
The Prades Mountains in Tarragona (Catalonia) offer far more than just a natural sanctuary filled with breathtaking landscapes. These mountains not only host a unique biodiversity but are also home to some of the finest wine appellations. From the D.O. Priorat, renowned for its excellence, to the D.O. Montsant, celebrated for its unwavering consistency, and the D.O. Costers del Segre, acclaimed for its extraordinary outcomes, the Prades Mountains are an inexhaustible source of exceptional wines.
However, what many are unaware of is that within these mountains lies a fourth appellation, the D.O Conca de Barberà. It is precisely here that Cara Nord was conceived, a venture that embodies the passion and love for wine of three friends: Tomàs Cusiné, Xavier Cepero, and Eric Solomon. Established in 2012, the project aims to reclaim the best of these mountains and their native varieties, offering wines of the highest quality with a profound connection to the terroir.
At an altitude of 800 metres, where the terrain is rugged and the valleys are steep, indigenous varieties such as trepat find their ideal habitat. Cara Nord Trepat Rosat captures the very essence of these mountains, thanks to organic and minimal intervention viticulture that allows the wine to reflect the purity of the terroir. Manual harvesting, followed by controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, ensures the most authentic expression of the variety. With a short maceration to extract only the essential from the grapes, the result is a fresh, vibrant wine full of character. Finally, after resting for three months in the tank, this rosé attains a complexity that remains true to its roots, honouring the land where it was born.
Cara Nord Trepat Rosat embodies the very essence of this corner of Catalonia, a wine that connects us with the mountains, with nature, and with the history of those who, for years, have believed in the magic of the north face of these mountains.
