About Celler Kripta Franc Brut Reserva

Achieving awards year after year for over four decades is no coincidence; it reflects impeccable work, tireless dedication, and an unwavering passion. Kripta is the most consistently awarded cava since it won its first gold medal in Old Bratislava in 1984, a milestone that continues to pave the way for excellence in the world of cava.

Its creator, Agustí Torelló Mata, born into a family of musicians and tailors, found in chemistry the perfect tool to turn his art into science. The fusion of creativity and technique led him to embark on his journey in the world of cava in 1955 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, at the heart of the D.O. Cava, achieving his greatest triumph in 1978 with the creation of Kripta. More than just a cava, it is a masterpiece that has transcended generations.

Today, Celler Kripta, now under the quality seal of Corpinnat and managed by Torelló’s children, is present in over 30 countries and is a global benchmark in the sector. Its legacy lives on in every bottle, as can be seen in Celler Kripta Franc Reserva, the ultimate expression of this family tradition and artisanal mastery. Crafted with the native varieties of the Penedès: macabeo, xarel·lo, and parellada, this Brut sparkling wine begins its fermentation in small stainless-steel tanks. It then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle using the traditional method, spending over 48 months ageing, which imparts exceptional complexity and elegance. Finally, the dosage is added during disgorgement, a carefully crafted blend that balances the acidity and smoothness of the sparkling wine, adding greater complexity and personality to the final product.

On the nose, it boasts fresh scents of green apple, peach, and nectarine, interwoven with subtle hints of bakery notes. On the palate, its creamy texture caresses the taste buds, unveiling a flawless balance between acidity and smoothness. The bubbles pirouette through a lengthy and delightful finish. 2011 Invigorating, fruity, and velvety smooth. It glides silkily across the palate, leaving impressions of white fruit interlaced with subtle hints of patisserie. The carbonation is seamlessly integrated, achieving an exquisite balance between sweetness and acidity. The finish is enduring. Straw yellow with greenish glimmers. Delicate effervescence, clear and luminous. Refreshing and delightful. Scents of white fruits meld with floral notes and a touch of pastry. Underpinned by a balsamic and herbaceous backdrop.
