12 Volts 2023 displays a vivid and brilliant cherry hue. On the nose, it features floral aromas alongside forest fruits such as strawberries and blackberries, harmoniously blended with a balsamic and wild touch. There are also lactic notes and a subtle hint of spices. On the palate, it is a well-rounded, fresh and luscious wine, with a pleasing persistence. Its profile is enhanced by nuances of cocoa and leather, offering a sensation of Mediterranean freshness that invites one to savour it.

About 12 Volts

12 Volts is a red wine from VT Mallorca crafted by the winery 4 Kilos in Felanitx. 4 Kilos, a colloquial term for 4 million pesetas, was the initial investment made by Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero to establish the winery. A modest investment in the industry that proves good wine is made not with vast sums of money but with passion and a commitment to quality.

4 Kilos practices rational agriculture, highly respectful of the environment, and with minimal intervention. They use native ground cover, with a rich microbiological population aimed at ensuring good biodiversity in the vineyard. In addition to all this, they benefit from a mild Mediterranean climate, with dry and warm summers and low rainfall.

12 Volts is crafted from the indigenous Mallorcan varieties callet and fogoneu, alongside other red varieties. The grapes are sourced from vineyards cultivated following a rational and low-intervention viticulture approach.

Regarding its production, all the grapes were harvested manually. Once at the winery, maceration and fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature initially maintained at 20°C, eventually rising to 28°C. The maceration lasted around 20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in steel tanks. The final step in the production of 12 Volts was an ageing period of less than a year in 3000-litre foudres and used 225-litre French oak barrels.

According to its creators, Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero, 12 Volts is a red wine that connects with the nervous system and recharges the batteries. A burst of positive Balearic vibes where the Mallorcan varieties callet and fogoneu embrace the foreign syrah, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot, resulting in a fluid and fruity wine with a long and pleasant finish.

12 Volts 2022 is a red wine that captivates with its youthfulness and vibrancy. As one brings it to the nose, it awakens with scents of blackberries and ripe cherries, interwoven with hints of oregano, complemented by a subtle toasted and balsamic nuance. On the palate, it unfolds as a flavorful and well-structured wine, offering a complexity that unravels in layers of mature red fruits. Its passage across the palate is seamless, culminating in an extended and harmonious finish that beckons one to continue savoring.
2021 12 Volts 2021 is an eminently Mediterranean red wine, exuding scents of indigenous aromatic herbs (thyme, oregano), which subtly and harmoniously complement the bouquet of ripe forest fruits and balsamic hints. On the palate, it unfurls with an exquisite rustic charm, fragrant and brimming with vitality. This red wine is exceedingly palatable, velvety smooth (12% ABV) yet with a distinct personality, offering both a refreshing and delectably rich experience.
2020

12 Volts 2020 is a red wine with a Mediterranean character, exuding aromas reminiscent of ripe forest fruits, complemented by scents of Mediterranean herbs and balsamic notes. Its palate is complex, vibrant, and fruit-forward. This red wine is versatile, succulent, and exceedingly approachable for enjoyment.
2019

12 Volts 2019 presents as a red wine imbued with the scents of forest fruits, floral undertones, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it reveals itself to be vibrant, indulgently sweet, and succulent. This wine boasts gentle tannins, a brisk acidity, and an exceedingly pleasant finish.

2018 12 Volts 2018 is a smooth red wine with aromas of ripe red fruit entwined with aromatic Mediterranean plants and a wet soil background. On the palate it is complex, flavoursome and balanced. The fruity flavour and balsamic notes stand out. The finish is lingering and very pleasant.
2013 Intense ripe, tasty black fruit. Harmony and balance. Well-structured and complex.

Cherry, clean and bright, intense tear. High layer.

Intense aromas of ripe black fruit, minerals, toast and something minty.
2011 In the mouth, it shows a great, large attack full of flavours, which are fruity, spiced and with certain mineral notes accompanied by a tasty and very sweet mid-palate, with a great acidity and ripe, greasy and round tannins, very pleasant. Long and persistent finish.

Beautiful cherry red colour with violet reflections. Clean and bright. It has a thin tear slightly coloured.

Clean, expressive and medium-high intensity nose with a wide range of aromas. Ripe and fleshy red fruit which gives way to floral nuances, aromatic herbs, lactic touches and refreshing mentholated notes. As soon as it is oxygenated, it becomes more complex, providing smoked, toasted and spiced hints.
2010 A powerful, very tasty wine from Mallorca, with a silky and warm mid palate. It shows a well-balanced structure, in which the fruit is dominant, even if nuanced by mineral and spicy aromas. It has a very good acidity and integrated, noticeable and nice tannins. It has a very long and persistent finish with an elegant toasted aftertaste.

Intense and bright maroon cherry colour with violet edges and high robe. It shows dense, elegant tears that stain the glass.

Very good and balanced aromatic intensity. Its abundant notes of ripe black fruit are released along with a strong minerality. After swirling the glass, notes of fresh red fruit appear, along with abundant flower aromas and lots of spicy and herbal hints, elegant toasted notes and a herbal touch of Mediterranean forest provided by the wood. It shows an intense balsamic background.
2009 This red wine is fresh, balanced, sweet and round with ripe tannins, with a creamy mid palate and a lingering finish, with toasty notes and hints of menthol.

Intense and bright cherry garnet colour.

Floral aromas, with notes of ripe red fruit, sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla) and hints of Mediterranean forests. Some notes of balsamic and milk are also perceived.
2008 This wine is fresh, balanced, sweet, round and ripe tannins, with a step creamy and a lingering finish, with toasty notes and menthol.

Cherry garnet color, intense and brilliant.

Floral aromas, ripe red fruit, sweet spices (cinnamon, vanilla) and Mediterranean forest. We also find some notes of balsam and dairy products.
