In Jerez, time also has its own ways, and Williams Fino en Rama Campanillero is one of those fortified wines that deserves to be discovered without haste. It originates from the musts of old vines from the Añina and Carrascal pagos, on the albariza soils, and leaves in the glass that quintessential Jerez combination of precision, depth, and an elegance that seems simple until you start to pay attention.
 
Williams & Humbert has been linked to the tradition of Jerez (Andalusia) since 1877, when Sir Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert combined their knowledge and passion for these wines. Since then, generations have cared for an understanding of ageing where time is not a detail but an essential part of each bottle's personality. Today, the house continues to maintain that connection with the casks and the wines born under the unique landscape of the Sherry Triangle.
 
This fino is part of the Añadas Collection, an unusual approach within the world of fino: while a traditional fino wine combines wines from different harvests to maintain a consistent profile, here it starts from a specific vintage and is allowed to evolve over years in a single cask. In this case, eight years of static ageing under flor (that white layer of yeast characteristic of biological ageing wines) have resulted in a dry, mineral, elegant, and full-bodied wine, bottled en rama, that is, practically as it comes from the cask, retaining all its expression and character.
 
Williams Fino en Rama Campanillero is one of those wines that calls for a quiet table, some olives to start, a bit of conversation, and perhaps a little curiosity to discover why Jerez can be much more than one might imagine. A fino with the personality of a unique bottle, capable of turning an apparently simple glass into a small lesson in terroir, time, and craft.
