The slogan, a short and memorable phrase that encapsulates the core message of a brand, is a powerful tool for creating an emotional connection with the consumer and standing out from the competition. So when the wines of Filipa Pato and William Wouters are signed under the slogan "authentic wines without makeup", they are telling us that their creations are honest, true to their origins, and free from artificial additives that might conceal or alter their true flavour and character. The daughter of Luis Pato, a great advocate of the baga variety, follows in her father's footsteps by championing this native variety of the DOC Bairrada. To this end, in 2001, together with her husband, the Belgian sommelier William Wouters, they embarked on their personal project in the village of Óis do Bairro and, taking their characteristic slogan as a reference, they created a collection of powerful, fresh wines with an Atlantic character.

In the case of Filipa Pato & William Wouters 3B Rosé, it is a sparkling wine made with their preferred varieties, baga and bical. The vines are located on east-facing clay-limestone slopes with a strong Atlantic influence. They are cultivated under biodynamic principles to maintain the maximum reflection of the terroir, and the harvest is done by hand at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, the selected grapes undergo a light maceration and are gently pressed. The resulting must ferments with indigenous yeasts in stainless-steel tanks, and then the wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, unfiltered and unfined, where it remains for 9 months on the lees.  


Named 'Winemaker of the Year' in 2020 by the Revista de Vinhos, Filipa Pato is a true rebel. A new-generation winemaker obsessed with showcasing the expression of each Bairrada terroir, and under a slogan that describes the transparency of her productions, wines like this Filipa Pato & William Wouters 3B Rosé have managed to be present in more than 40 countries worldwide.
