Tasting notes Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 2025 en Primeur

White wine Respectful agriculture.

Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 2025 is a sweet wine that gleams in the glass with a radiant golden hue, as if capturing the last light of the day within its reflections. The nose opens generously, unfurling notes of honey, opulent flowers, and hints of quince paste that evoke old pantries and autumnal calm. On the palate, its texture is silky and enveloping, with a sweetness that never cloys, upheld by a fine freshness that keeps it lively and precise. Mirabelle plum, wildflower, and a whisper of delicate pastry emerge, akin to a leisurely stroll through a garden in full maturity. The finish is elegant and long, with a subtle noble bitterness and a delicate trace of pollen that lingers, like a final word spoken softly.

About Château Lafaurie Peyraguey 37,5 cl

Have you observed how a place can appear to be frozen in time when the mist lingers a little longer over the vineyards?

At the summit of Bommes, in the heart of Sauternes (France), Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey surveys the landscape as if it has always belonged there. Its origins date back centuries, but it was in 1618 that the vineyard began to craft its own narrative, one that would later be acknowledged among the greats with its classification as Premier Grand Cru in 1855. Today, under the stewardship of Silvio Denz, the estate engages in a dialogue with the art and crystal of Lalique, as if the wine had found its natural way to inhabit beauty.

Château Lafaurie Peyraguey is a wine where the sémillon grape expresses itself with a luminous tranquillity, shaped by the slow passage of time under the influence of botrytis, a product of that sweet mist which transforms the grape into something almost suspended between fruit and memory. The harvest, carried out in several careful passes, selects only what the vineyard decides to offer at its precise point of concentration. In the glass, everything unfolds with a silky texture, where ripe stone fruit mingles with clear honey, candied citrus peel, and a floral undertone that seems to appear and disappear with the light.

It is a wine that does not impose itself, but gently approaches, like an intimate conversation at the end of the day. There is sweetness, indeed, but also precision, a quiet architecture that supports each sensation without visible effort.

And perhaps the most beautiful aspect is how it invites one to linger a moment longer than anticipated, as if time, for once, were in no hurry to move forward.
