About Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide

No tribute could ever suffice to encapsulate a mother's love, right? In the case of Bruno Rocca, this profound affection is encapsulated in Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide, a red wine crafted to honor the matriarch of an esteemed lineage of winemakers.

Only the finest grapes from their 12.5 hectares are selected for the creation of this pure nebbiolo varietal, flourishing in the vineyards that the Rocca family owns between the towns of Barbaresco and Neive, amidst the rolling hills of Langhe. Here, within the prestigious D.O.C.G. Barbaresco territory, the Rocca clan has been cultivating vineyards and unraveling their mysteries for centuries. The first of them was Francesco, whose endeavors are documented as early as 1834 when he began as a "multifaceted agricultural enterprise" and livestock breeder. Over time, two things have become abundantly clear. First: the vineyard triumphed over all other crops. Second: no one has been able to eclipse their wines. What then is their formula or secret? Unwavering passion and dedication.

As a general principle, in any Bruno Rocca wine "it is our terroir that signs the wines, not the producer"; and so it is with Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide. The clay soils with sandy streaks are effortlessly discernible in each glass. This is only achievable by cultivating in a straightforward and unpretentious manner, eschewing the overuse of chemicals and allowing the plant itself to direct the process and set the pace. Thus, the efforts of every single worker at Bruno Rocca are based on vigilant observation of each vine to ascertain the optimal moment for action. This is particularly crucial when it comes to determining the harvest date. For Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide, this is carried out manually, in small ventilated boxes, where only the choicest grapes, hand-picked directly from the vine, will be placed. Yet, this will not be the sole scrutiny Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide undergoes, as a further selection will be conducted once the grapes arrive at the winery.

This is merely the initial step. Subsequently, Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide will go through the destemmer, where the grapes will be processed and the stems removed. Throughout the process, Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide is treated distinctly, keeping each plot separate in different tanks. In this instance, these vessels, where Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide will undergo spontaneous fermentation, are made of stainless steel, and later the wine will be transferred to wood. This latter phase is crucial as the regulations of the D.O.C.G. Barbaresco mandate that red wines from this appellation must undergo a minimum of 26 months of maturation (nine of which in wood). For Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide, this period translates into approximately 18 months in barrels and the remainder in the bottle. Ultimately, Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide is bottled unfiltered and unfined.

Is there anything purer than a mother's love? Is there anything purer than Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Maria Adelaide?
