About Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas

Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas is a red wine produced by the Viñedos del Jorco winery in Cebreros (Ávila), without denomination of origin.

Viñedos del Jorco is a project established by Raúl Pérez together with César Ruiz, Flequi Berruti and Nacho Jiménez. This project stemmed from Raúl Pérez’s interest in a top-quality vineyard that belonged to a winegrower from the area who sold the grapes in Paraje del Jorco, Cebreros.

After 5 years of cultivating this vineyard by applying biodynamic treatments, without using systemic products, in 2016 they decided to buy it. While they waited to build a winery in the area, the production took place in Raúl's winery in El Bierzo, transporting the grapes there in refrigerated trucks. All their wines are currently vinified in their own winery.

Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas is a red wine made with Grenache grapes from vineyards that are mostly on granite soils, with some slate. They were planted at a high altitude over 60 years ago.

After harvesting by hand, 40% of the grapes ferment in an old earthenware vessel and the remainder in a used cask, with indigenous yeasts. This wine is aged for 18 months in 500-litre French oak barrels.

Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas 2018 is an exquisitely refined red wine. The bouquet reveals cereals, lactic nuances, floral hints, tart red berries, herbs, and spices. On the palate, it is harmoniously balanced and pulsates with vibrancy. The acidity is effervescent, culminating in a burst of invigorating freshness.
2016 Viñedos del Jorco Las Enebradas 2016 is a deep, expressive and elegant wine. On the nose this vintage is very fruity and floral. With a pleasant mouthfeel, it immediately displays volume together with a delicious final freshness.
