About Silice Viticultores 'Silice' Tinto

Sílice is a red wine produced in the Ribera Sacra area by Silice Viticultores in Amandi, Lugo. 

Sílice is produced by Fredi Torres and the brothers Carlos and Juan Rodríguez. Their vineyards are located in the Amandi subzone. Their philosophy is to make wines like those from the past, with very little intervention.

Sílice is a blend of 80% Mencía and other varieties such as Merenzao, Albarello and Garnacha Tintorera. 70% of the grapes are destemmed and the rest is left to ferment whole in 5000 litre 'fudres'. It is aged in the same fudre for 9 months.
