About Celler Capçanes Mas Picosa Organic Tinto

Mas Picosa Ecológico is a young red wine made in Montsant by the Celler de Capçanes winery. Mas Picosa Ecológico is made from a blend of Grenache, Merlot, Mazuelo and Tempranillo.

The grapes come from vineyards planted at an altitude of between 150 and 450 metres, on clay soils and granite terraces.

The vines are grown following organic farming, certified by the CCPA (Catalan Council of Organic Farming).

The harvest is done manually and the vinification of each of the varieties is carried out separately.

First a maceration of the grapes is carried out for 8-10 days.

Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 24-28ºC.

After malolactic fermentation, the wine is then aged for four months in tanks.

Before bottling, Mas Picosa Ecológico is stabilised cold and a light filtering applies. A young red wine from Montsant, ecologically certified.

2020

Mas Picosa Ecológico 2020 is a remarkably vibrant red wine. The nose is dominated by intense aromas of red fruit. On the palate, it is robust and full-bodied.
2013 The taste is a kind, soft and silky. The return of the aromas from the nose. Red fruit and flowers. Sweet tannins and lively acidity. Final taste is friendly.

A delicate, floral nose. Red fruit, currants, strawberries. A balsamic background with light spices.
2012 Very concentrated and fresh on the palate with sweet tannins.

2010 Very nice, soft and light mid palate with slightly concentrated notes of tasty, fresh and juicy fruit. Good acidity and sweet tannins. Good finish. A smooth and easy-drinking, very nice wine.

Very good aromatic intensity, with red fruit at centre stage and some subtle herbal touches.
