About L’Anglore Chemin de la Brune
When you know who you are, there is no need for introduction. No one needs to validate your character. And this is exactly the case with L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune , a rosé wine that, despite being made in the A.O.C. Tavel, cannot be labelled under this denomination.
But don’t panic! On the bottle’s label there is something else to guarantee the quality and excellence of this wine: the signature of Eric Pfifferling. It doesn’t matter that the Grenache, Cinsault and Aramon used to make L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune are grown outside the denomination, located in the southern Rhône Valley. Eric Pfifferling is capable of making this work, and much more (there is a reason why he is now considered a benchmark in French wine). He is not alone in his endeavours. Since 2018, he has teamed up with his wife Marie and their two sons, Joris and Thibault, with whom he runs L'Anglore. This domaine, located between the Pont d'Avignon and the Pont du Gard, currently has 20 hectares that are managed and cultivated in a completely natural way, respecting the plants and soils (a mixture of clays, sands and large pebbles known as galets). In fact, these stones act as temperature regulators, absorbing heat from the sun’s rays during the day and releasing it at night. Likewise, the vines are under the influence of intense, very regular northwesterly winds, known as mistral.
After the harvest, which will obviously be carried out naturally, L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune is processed in the winery with the minimum possible intervention and very carefully, carrying out all movement and racking by gravity. Throughout the process, the wine should be touched as little as possible, relying on spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts. Previously, L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune had a very short, barely noticeable maceration. L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune is also vinified in whole clusters, aiming for a carbonic maceration, and it then spends approximately one year aging in stainless steel tanks. Finally, L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune is bottled unfiltered, unclarified and without added sulphites.
L'Anglore Chemin de la Brune develops as a self-confident rosé with no hang-ups. Are you ready to give it a try?
