About La Riva Manzanilla Fina Miraflores Baja

La Riva Manzanilla Fina Miraflores Baja is a fortified wine made by Bodega De la Riva with the Palomino Fino variety under the D.O. Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in Cadiz, Spain.

The Riva Manzanilla Fina Miraflores Baja comes from a single ‘almacenista’-style solera from the old Luis del Río winery. This Manzanilla is refreshed with wines from grapes that come mainly from the Casilla Verde estate in the Miraflores Baja plot, Sanlúcar. It is bottled after aging for 3 to 3 and a half years in the Criaderas and Soleras system.

These vineyards lie about 7 km from the Atlantic coast and have the characteristic Albariza soils.

Ramiro Ibánez and Willy Pérez are two restless Marco de Jerez winemakers who have various personal projects but decided to combine their efforts with the Bodega M. Ant. De la Riva, an old brand that they have revived to rescue old vines and wines from traditional plots like Macharnudo and Bilbaína in Jerez. They have now added a range of manzanillas, one ‘fina’ and one ‘pasada’, from traditional Sanlúcar de Barrameda vineyards.
