About Dominio del Pidio Blanco

Dominio del Pidio Blanco is a white wine aged in wood made by Cillar de Silos with the Albillo variety in the DO. Ribera del Duero in Castile-Leon, Spain.

Dominio del Pidio is an initiative of the brothers Óscar and Roberto Aragón, from Bodegas Cillar de Silos. A local wine project based on the recovery of an ancestral legacy with 10 hectares of old vineyards and five cellars and underground wine presses from the 16th century located in Quintana del Pidio.

Dominio del Pidio Blanco comes from vines up to 100 years old located in Quintana del Pidio. Old vines planted at an altitude of over 850 meters above sea level in sandy-clay-loam soils. They are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Dominio del Pidio Blanco grapes are gently pressed and the must obtained is fermented in cement tanks. Then the wine spends 8 months on its lees in French oak barrels.

2020

Dominio del Pidio Blanco 2020 is a sumptuously creamy wine. The bouquet is dominated by candied peach aromas that overlay a mineral and chalky base. On the palate, it is light and crisp, with a hint of spiciness. It is eminently quaffable. There is an excellent harmony between its acidity and mineral nuances.

Dominio del Pidio Blanco 2018 is a creamy white wine with aromas of ripe white fruit, light notes of fine cocoa and a seductive chalky background. On the palate it’s fresh, voluminous and very mineral. A wine with rich acidity and a long, sharp finish.
