About Domaine Chantal Lescure Pommard Les Vignots

In Burgundy, the pinot noir wines are the true stars, although not all shine equally. Some are very powerful and structured, and if left too long without being consumed, they may lose their freshness and elegance. Others, more rustic or robust—the so-called "farmhouse" wines—can overshadow the more delicate ones, those that truly deserve to stand out.

Domaine Chantal Lescure, in Pommard, knows how to find the perfect balance. Their wines blend delicacy and strength, and they evolve well in the bottle if enjoyed at the right moment.

The winery was founded in 1975 as a family project by Chantal Lescure, and since then it has grown with meticulous care in the vineyard. After several generations of winemakers, the estate has consistently maintained a focus on sustainability and manual labour, cultivating the vineyards with respect for the soil, the plants, and the environment.

Pommard Les Vignots is a prime example of this philosophy. It comes from 35-year-old vines planted in a hectare of privileged soil. All the work is done by hand: the harvest, the grape selection, the destemming, and the gravity-fed vatting. The fermentation is long and gentle, in stainless steel tanks, with moderate punch-downs over 18 to 25 days. The ageing takes place on the lees, with 30% new barrels, and the wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving all its authenticity.

After this meticulous work, comes Pommard Les Vignots. A vibrant, elegant, and balanced pinot noir, which does not seek to impress, but rather invites a sensory journey where every detail becomes pure pleasure.
