About Austum Ecológico

The new Austum Tinto vintage is a wine from D.O. Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Tionio, a winery founded in 1995 and owned by Grupo Parxet. It is situated on the La Asperilla estate, in the town of Peñafiel.
The climate of this area is continental and characterised by the great contrast in temperatures between the seasons.
This wine is a single variety Tinta Fina(Tempranillo) grape grown on vineyards planted at 850 metres above sea level on sandy and gravelly soils with layers of limestone and marl.
Both the harvest and the selection on the table is done completely by hand.
As for the production, after the destemming, there is a cold maceration of the must at a controlled temperature 6-8ºC for 5 days in order to strengthen the aromatic characteristics of the varieties.
Finally, Austum Tinto undergoes an aging for 6 months in new Allier and American oak barrels.

2013 On the palate the wine is fresh and alive due to the short aging time; it presents a good structure without stridency.

Cherry colour with violet background.

On the nose it is intense; aromas of red fruit and floral are prominent.
2010 Vivid and wide attack. Velvety midpalate. The notes of fruit appear together with hints of toasted. Ripe tannins. Balanced wine with a medium aftertaste.

Intense and complex aromas. Predominant notes of red fruit with floral aromas. Herbal notes (fennel) are released on a background full of balsamic and creamy notes, hints of leather, snuff and touches of toasted and spicy.

2008 In the mouth its freshness and its structure without fanfare because of its short time in oak. This wine shows lively. Spacious, with silky tannins and where the fruit turns black and species.

It has a cherry alive color with a purple background typical of his youth. Bright and slowly tears.

The nose is intense and very ex-dominated aromas of red fruits and flowers on a balsamic background.
2006 In the mouth it is fresh with smooth tannins from its short time in oak.

Deep cherry red with violet hints indicative of it's youth.

Intense aroma predominated by red fruits and floral notes.
