About Armand de Brignac Blanc de Blancs

When we talk about a winery with 33 hectares of vineyards and a team of 18 people, we are looking at an artisan project where they can pay close attention to every aspect of the vine cultivation and wine production process. That means Armand de Brignac has greater control over quality and the ability to adjust methods depending on the specific needs of each process. This is an artisan winemaking project that allows them to focus on quality, tailored processes and creativity. Owner of famous Champagne Crus, in Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses and Ludes (France), this is a luxury champagne brand that is known around the world for its stunning bottles and distinctive ace of spades label. That is why it is colloquially known as “Ace of Spades.”

Among its most prized bottles, Armand de Brignac Blanc de Blancs is a rare and unique production (5% of total annual production) from Chardonnay vineyards cultivated in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims using sustainable agriculture. In the winery, under the guidance of winemakers Jean-Jacques Cattier and Alexandre Cattier, vinification is carried out from the so-called ‘tête de cuvée’ of the pressing. In other words, only the juice extracted from the grapes at the beginning of the pressing process is used to make the base wine, because of its purity and freshness, and this is found in the upper part of the vat. The wine is then blended with three different vintages and undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle where it is kept on the lees for a period of time. Finally, it is disgorged and dosed with 8 grams of sugar per litre (brut).
