About Palacio de Bornos La Caprichosa Verdejo

Palacio de Bornos La Caprichosa is a single-variety Verdejo white wine produced by the Palacio de Bornos winery in the D.O. Rueda in Valladolid, Spain.
 
“La Caprichosa” is the most special vineyard at Palacio de Bornos. This is a vineyard of low fertility gravelly soils, where vines grow in bush form at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. The vines are more than thirty years old. The harvest is carried out manually. The must ferments in temperature-controlled tanks and the resulting wine remains on its lees for a further four months before bottling.
 
The history of Palacio de Bornos goes hand in hand with that of the D.O. Rueda. They began producing wines in 1978 with the aim of taking advantage of and showcasing the qualities of the area’s leading variety: the Verdejo grape. 
 
Palacio de Bornos La Caprichosa is a charming Verdejo. A white wine that offers the best of the variety in a fresh, full-bodied, smooth and persistent wine.
