About Oscar Tobía Reserva

Oscar Tobia Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja produced by Bodega Tobia, a winery that was founded in 1994 by Oscar Tobía and Ana Castelló, after restoring the family´s harvesting equipment.

The climate in this area is temperate, continental and warm, with a Cantabrian influence. Recorded rainfall throughout the year has an average of 648 mm, and the average annual temperature is 12ºC. This wine is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Graciano from a careful selection of grapes from the winery's own vineyards, located in the Rioja Alta, San Asensio and Briones. As for processing, after manual harvesting is carried out, cold maceration takes place. Subsequently, grapes are de-stemmed but not crushed, and fermented at a maximum temperature of 25 to 26 degrees. Malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrel and then there is an aging of 22 months in the same barrels of French and Hungarian oak, with a regular racking every 4 months. Finally, the wine is bottled unfiltered to respect all the natural qualities of the wine.

The palate is creamy, oily and fleshy. It has very ripe tannins and a good balance between fruit and toasted notes. Long finish.



Red cherry. Clean and bright. With abundant tear.



The nose is intense and complex. Smoked and mineral aromas with floral and fruity aromas such as violets and cherries.
2006 Very nice and wide attack. Warm, creamy, silky and very tasty mid palate. Its good load of fruit emerge along with its delicate mineral touches. Ripe and well integrated tannins. Long and lingering aftertaste. A round wine from Rioja Alta.

Intense cherry colour with maroon edges. Clean and bright. Abundant and glyceric legs.

Clean and elegant aromas. The notes of very ripe black fruit stand out along with hints of liqueur, milky notes and good toasted aromas. When it opens up off a wide range of aromatic notes round out the wine. Coffee, snuff, spices (vanilla, cinnamon) and toffee, among others, are perceived on an elegant mineral background.
2005 Amable, oily, fatty, large, full and fleshy. Ripe tannins. Structured with good harmony fruit-wood. With retronasal spaced. Very long. Redondo.

Clean, bright with plenty of tears. Red cherry well covered.

Intense, complex and lush aroma. Exhibits an astonishing array aromatic smoked, pencil lead, mineral, violent, ripe berries and wild fruits.
