This estate has always been a family business. So much so that Nicolas Gauffroy Coteaux Bourguignons Vieilles Vignes originates from the vineyards that this family has been cultivating in Meursault since 1938. Nevertheless, this time, collective recognition is set aside for a bottle signed by an individual name, that of Nicolas Gauffroy. This intrepid winemaker, the latest generation of the family, has ventured into his own range of wines, much younger and more refreshing, with a lively style that brings a new, more modern and contemporary wave to the house. And beware! This is not to undermine the rest of their wines; but we assure you that, for the moment, no other red from here reinterprets the classic expression of Burgundy with such vivacity.
 
For years, both Nicolas Gauffroy and his family have cultivated the vineyards in a completely respectful manner. So, in that regard, he already has us won over! Even so, Nicolas Gauffroy Coteaux Bourguignons Vieilles Vignes will continue to captivate you with the quality and character of its grapes, born from vines over 50 years old—some even centenarian—which exhibit a great concentration that translates into wines of high alcohol content. All this material deserves a meticulous and gentle treatment in the winery, always seeking to find the maximum expression of the terroir without using chemicals and without resorting to sulphur. Evidently, this entails manual harvesting and spontaneous fermentations with native yeasts.
