With a rich and enveloping entry and a somewhat dry palate. Well-balanced acidity. Long and persistent finish.

About Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso

Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso is a fortified wine produced by the Rey Fernando de Castilla winery in Jerez.

The winery is located in the centre ofJerez de la Frontera (Cádiz). It is a hundred years old, and in the last few years, it has started to produce young fortified wines as well as the Antique range, which are old wines from the winery’s antique vintages.

Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso is 100% made from the native variety Palomino Fino. The wine is fortified at 17ºC so that the cap of ‘flor’ yeast doesn’t grow, and it undergoes oxidative ageing. It is aged for 30 years using the soleras and criaderas system.

It is a complex sherry, with aromas such as dry fruit from the period of oxidative ageing. The sherry’s concentration gives it a saline finish on the palate.
