About Edouard Delaunay Bourgogne Cote d’Or Pinot Noir

“My grandfather used to say that this winery was the smallest of the great maisons. My ambition is to make that the case once again.” With this goal in mind, in 2017 Laurent Delaunay recovered the family estate bought in 1893 by his great-grandfather and founder Edouard Delaunay, and works with effort and passion to turn it into a beautiful Burgundy house. A maison that aims to offer all the nobility of Burgundy’s regional denominations by using grapes sourced exclusively from the best terroirs of the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits and to turn this small maison into one of the greats.

He has achieved these things through Edouard Delaunay Bourgogne Cote d'Or Pinot Noir, a red wine made from a selection of Pinot Noir grapes from Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits (AOC Bourgogne Cote d'Or) where the soils are composed of clay alluvium, silt and gravel. The grapes are harvested by hand and then undergo a meticulous selection process in the winery. A period of cold maceration is followed by 12 days of vatting. Finally, approximately 70% of the cuvée is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, 15% of which are new oak.

Elegant and smooth, Edouard Delaunay Bourgogne Cote d'Or Pinot Noir is a wine that meets all the expectations of a good Burgundy. A Pinot Noir with pedigree worthy of the region.

Edouard Delaunay Bourgogne Cote d’Or Pinot Noir 2017 is a supple red wine exuding intricate aromas of red berries complemented by undertones of fresh mint. On the palate, it is opulent, ethereal, and graceful. An intense wine with pronounced acidity and a gently spiced finish.
