About Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge

Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge is an oak-aged red wine crafted by Domaine Rossignol-Trapet using the pinot noir varietal within the AOC Bourgogne in Burgundy, France.
 
When Jacques Rossignol and Mado Trapet united in matrimony in 1961, Jacques joined his brother-in-law at Domaine Jean Trapet Père et Fils. However, by the late 1980s, they decided to partition the estate amongst the children of each family. Thus, Nicolas and David, the progeny of Rossignol-Trapet, embarked on their venture, Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, with 13 hectares spread across Grand Cru, 1er Cru, and village vineyards, adopting biodynamic principles to craft wines of greater purity and elegance than those of their forebears.
 
One of the innovations implemented by the new generation of Rossignol-Trapet is the cessation of chemical products in the vineyard and the adoption of environmentally conscious agriculture with biodynamic treatments. When the grapes of Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge reach optimal ripeness, they are hand-harvested, with only the finest clusters selected.
 
In the winery, after sorting, only a portion of the bunches of Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge are destemmed, followed by a brief cold pre-maceration. Subsequently, a slow fermentation commences in stainless steel vats with regular bâtonnage, lasting between two to three weeks. The wine is then matured for 14 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which are new.
 
Honoring their family legacy, the brothers Nicholas and David Domaine have adapted to contemporary demands and have released Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge. A biodynamically produced red wine that is fruity, succulent, and acclaimed wherever it is savored.
 
2018 Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Bourgogne rouge 2018 is an eloquent red wine, boasting an expressive bouquet of fresh red and black fruit, mineral undertones, and earthy nuances. On the palate, it is vibrant, light-bodied, and abundantly fruity. It exhibits gentle tannins and a revitalizing acidity.
