There is a historical connection between the world of pirates and rum. The name Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold Rum is inspired by the famous 17th century privateer, Henry Morgan, a young Welshman who was governor of Jamaica, whose reputation, ambition and leadership created a story that sees him as the most legendary pirate of the seas.
 
Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold Rum is an adventurous rum created in 1982, which shares the Caribbean tradition that gave rise to spiced rums characterised by their flavour and aroma achieved thanks to their infusion of aromas from cinnamon, citrus peels, and other spices; smooth rums that are very pleasant to drink.
