About Ysios Grano a Grano

Ysios Grano a Grano is a single varietal Tempranillo red wine produced by the Ysios winery under the DOCa.Rioja in Spain.

The grapes used to make Ysios Grano a Grano come from La Pedrera, a vineyard located in Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa, with an area of less than one hectare. Its soils are clay-limestone with veins of ferrous sandy soil where vines grow which date back to 1962.

Ysios Grano a Grano is a wine consisting of a selection of Tempranillo grapes which are looked after by hand in each of the winemaking processes, from the vineyard to the winery. The harvest is carried out manually and bunches are collected in 10 kg boxes. Destemming is also done by hand. The grapes are fermented in open barrels without temperature control and daily cap punching is applied.

The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages in French oak barrels for 12 months.

Ysios Grano a Grano is a wine of splendid purity and depth as a result of its practically artisan elaboration through the meticulous selection of each of the grapes which it’s made from.
