About RIM Sarau Tinto

RIM Sarau is a natural, barrel-aged red wine made by Rim Vins i Vinyes with the Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena varieties in the Empordà Catalan denomination (Spain).

Rim Vins i Vinyes was set up by Jordi Esteve Xifra in the Catalan town of Rabós (Empordà) in 2013. A small winery whose name is both the young winegrower’s nickname, as well as the diminutive of ‘raïm’, which means grape in Catalan. Taking the native Lledoner (Garnacha) variety as the protagonist, he uses organic farming and a minimum intervention. The result is a small production of natural wines that are a direct reflection of the land.

RIM Sarau comes from a small estate of ecological vineyards planted in slate soils. They are cultivated using sustainable viticulture with organic fertilisers and phytosanitary products. These are old vines with a limited yield that are harvested manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

When the RIM Sarau grapes reach the winery, they are vinified in the most natural way. To do this, they ferment spontaneously with native yeasts and then the wine is aged for 6 months in old oak barrels.

RIM Sarau is a natural red wine and a reflection of a landscape where time and space seems to have stopped. A whole life philosophy that Jordi Esteve Xifra, aka RIM, has portrayed in this fruity, meaty and electric wine.

2018 RIM Sarau 2018 is a juicy wine with aromas of ripe red and black fruit and pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is meaty and vibrant. It is easy to drink with a very refreshing electric acidity.
